Hours to keep in mind
Sunday mornings — with a summer twist
Antique markets are a touch more relaxed than the weekday food markets, but it still pays to be an early riser. Stalls open around 08:00 and typically run until 14:00. During the hottest summer months exceptions are sometimes made, with markets instead held in the cool of the evening (from around 18:00 onwards) to avoid the heat.
Insider tip for summer
In addition to its regular monthly Sunday, Martina Franca hosts a large and well-attended antique fair — Antiquariato in Valle d'Itria — which usually runs for over a week in mid-August. It's an excellent opportunity to find higher-end furniture, artworks and classic Apulian ceramics.
